The 2009 Annual Convention and Business Meeting

The 2009 NYCOA Convention held at Letchworth State Park, the Grand Canyon of the East, was a great success. The number of attendees was at the highest level we have seen in the 23 years we have been holding these events. We were graced with beautiful sunny, warm weather, great food and, best of all, great company. Members and their families came from every corner of the state Old friends spent time reminiscing and new friendships were forged.

The business portion of the convention was also successful and the auction set a record for the highest revenues generated in 23 years. Click on the link to review the 2009 Convention business meeting minutes.

Jim Hunt and Bob Peinkofer did a terrific job in planning and organizing the 2009 Annual Convention. As mentioned previously, it was the most successful convention ever held from an attendence perspective and from the financial aspect. We extend our sincere gratitude to them for their hard work and for their dedication to the Association. We would also like to congratulate both of them on their election to seats on the Association Executive Board; Bob as Vice President and Jim as a member of the Relief Board.

Association President Scott Florence conducts the annual business meeting flanked by Treasurer Larry Johnson on the left, Secretary Liza Bobseine on the right, and Vice President Paul Hatch on the far right.
The membership pays close attention, and a considerable amount of business is concluded during this morning meeting.
We are not real sure what signal Karen Williams is sending to the Executive Board from the back of the room.
