The 2010 Annual Convention and Business Meeting

The 2010 NYCOA Convention will be held in beautiful Lake George, the "Gateway to the Adirondacks, in Region 5. The Fort William Henry Resort and Conference Center will host all of our conference activities. The family picnic will take place on Monday, August 2nd and the annual business meeting will be conducted on Tuesday morning, August 3rd. The banquet and auction will take place on Tuesday evening. Specific details on these activities will be forthcoming.

Rooms are available at these rates for three days prior to and three days following the dates of our conference. Informthem that you are with NYCOA to get these special rates, and that you would prefer a Lake View room.

Camping - 20 camp sites are reserved for NYCOA attendees at:

NYSDEC Lake George Battlefield Campground, 2224 State Route 9, Lake George, NY 12845.

For camping reservations with hookups (DEC Run Campgrounds do not have electric/sewer hookups etc for RV's or campers) you can contact http://www.adirondackcampingvillage.com/resort.asp . This place is a few miles outside the village and does offer hookups. The owner says that, if you write ENCON POLICE in the comments section when making an online reservation, he will try to group our members families together and, if the numbers are enough, will offer a group discount.

LAKE GEORGE AREA ATTRACTIONS AND INFORMATION

Fort William Henry Museum

Fort William Henry played an important role in the French and Indian War from 1755 to 1757. The Fort and its museum is located adjacent to our convention hotel and is a great place to visit and learn about this important period in New York State's history.
Saratoga Raceway

The Saratoga Raceway and Gaming Casino is only a short distance from Lake George. The live racing season is in full swing during the month of August. Make sure that you plan an extra day to take advantage of this unique experience.

The Casino has 1700 of the most modern electronic slot machines to satisfy the gambler in all of us. They provide many amenities in addition, including and endless buffet that is second to none. Don't miss a chance to visit the track!

Lake George is a beautiful place to visit, with many attractions for all family members, boating,hiking trails and many activities. Make your plans early and join us for a memorable gathering.

The Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom

Another of Lake George's popular attractions, The Great Escape is a great theme park with something for every member of the family.
